ARE YOU A THEOSOPHIST?

  • Do you try to encourage true friendliness and sympathy between people of all nations, cultures and beliefs?
  • Do you feel you are open-minded enough to learn about other people's religions and to see the signs of unity within all of them?
  • Would you enjoy exchanging ideas on how the sciences of the outer physical world and the teachings dealing with the Soul of things can be reconciled?
  • Above all, are you interested in contributing to the welfare of mankind by developing  the potentials innate in each one of us?

If you feel that these endeavours match your own motives, you may be interested in attending some of our meetings where we have talks, discussions and studies related to the above.

Theosophy (Greek, theos = god, sophia = wisdom) meaning Divine Wisdom. The word Theosophy has been in existence for many centuries; Divine Wisdom has existed from the beginning of time. But Divine Wisdom cannot be enclosed in words. All statements about Theosophy are partial. Divine Wisdom , which is Truth, must be discovered by each one for themselves. By exploring the depths of one's own nature one can come to the experience of Truth .

The Theosophical tradition affirms that:

  • all life is one life.
  • law pervades the universe.
  • an evolutionary process is universal.

In the sphere of human life, these principles are expressed as

  • the brotherhood of all mankind.
  • the unfolding of possibilities through reincarnation under the law of karma and
  • human perfectibility and transcendence.

Theosophy is the light that shines through the many-coloured lamps of religion. It is the thread of , truth in scriptures, creeds, symbols, myths and rituals. The Divine Wisdom is one; the paths towards it are many.
The Theosophical Society does not lay any claim to the exclusive possession of Theosophy. It seeks to let people know that such a wisdom exists and to assist those who will to find it.

Constructive comments and any suggestions for improvement will be gratefully received.
Thank you in anticipation.
